New Blogs for New Beginnings

Hi, blogger.
I'm cheating on my xanga, and I would feel bad, but too many people read my xanga and know who I am.
Tomorrow is my last day of high school, which I guess could make it the first day of the rest of my life. I don't know what to think. I'm numb. I guess it hasn't really sunk in yet, but I'm not scared, excited, worried, enthusiastic...but I am pretty sure that I am ready. What have I learned in high school? Probably not too much geometry, algebra, trigonometry, or pre-calculus. I don't remember English 9A (in fact, I would like to forget it completely, kthanx). Government and Economics are already slipping away. Biology was a joke. Latin...I can say the Pledge of Allegiance (I still think it is funny when they teach national pledges and anthems in different languages), a few random quotes, and the first sentence of Ecce Romani 1: Ecce! In pictura est puella, nomine Cornelia. So what DID I learn?
1.) Your best friend from middle school who you had dreams to room with in college will never grow up. Boys had a lot to do with that.
2.) The Student Handbook is a set of guidelines to be broken at any time by the administration, not a list of concrete rules. Especially if someone slips on ice cream and gets hurt.
3.) Marching band is NOT a sport. It is a way of life. It is an art form. It will stress you out to no end, and at the same time, will be a great stress reliever. The phrase "Blood, sweat, and tears" must have originated at a time when everyone was in marching band. It is the hardest thing you will do, unless of course you join the military, in which case the only difference is they have guns and their instructors can openly use profanity.
4.) When in doubt, go to the band room. There is always SOMEONE in there you know.
5.) People die. It sucks and it is never fair. It is always the best ones who have to leave first.
6.) Rumors about girls being pregnant are 99.9% of the time not true.
7.) Rumors about people changing their sexual preference are 99.9% of the time true, even if they have a current significant other of the opposite sex. It happens, and at the time it is a lot more to handle than you would think, but you can't be judgemental. Just accept it, remember they are your friend, and move on.
8.) Couples in love usually break up.
9.) Even if a girl cheats off of you during a test, openly admits it to you, and the act is witnessed by several other students, as long as she has sucked up to the teacher all year and is slightly attractive, it never happened and the teacher "can't prove it."
10.) Road trips are always as great as you anticipated them to be. Whether it is to IU, White Castle, Detroit (holla!), Minnesota, Chicago, or Virginia Beach, you will never think for even a second "Hey, Ft. Fun is better, I wish I never left."
11.) Landscaping yards is an adrenaline rush. And even if someones dad is chasing after you, don't worry, they probably think you are his son's exgirlfriend, and she can take the blame.

That's all the time I have for tonight. Byes.
